A Charming Lancaster Home Reimagined

This charming 1940s home nestled in a desired neighborhood of Lancaster County was reimagined for a young family with small children, blending old-world charm with the demands of modern living.

Our design honors the home’s original vintage character that our clients were initially drawn to, while creating a fresh, elevated environment for the family to grow.

To realize our clients’ vision, an addition and expansion of the kitchen was necessary to allow space for this flourishing family to come together. As the heart of the home, the transformed kitchen functions as a central gathering place for everyday family moments as well as larger celebrations. Here, functionality was prioritized with an expansive island featuring a second sink and ample seating. Custom details—a bespoke range hood, a bar area, reeded glass accents, and cabinetry—bring craftsmanship and personality to the space. Thoughtful material selection - walnut, marble, soapstone, and tile- ensures both durability and timeless elegance.

The light-filled, open kitchen flows seamlessly into the green-lacquered den. Here, a palette of deep tones and custom soft furnishings - all sourced by Studio K -  bring a more intimate and balanced atmosphere - all while preserving and heightening the home’s identity. Wallpaper in the dining room and bathrooms feature classic botanical prints and add warmth and personality, heightening the sense of individuality.

Every detail and decision pays homage to the heritage of this home. The result is a home that feels open, inviting, and effortlessly personal—a space that perfectly balances comfort, style, and story.
