From Tuscan to Timeless, A thoughtful renovation and transformation for everyday living

Our clients loved their home, but the dated Tuscan-style interiors no longer reflected their taste or lifestyle. The dark, heavy kitchen and living areas, the formal dining room, and an underutilized sunken sunroom felt disconnected from their aspirations.

The goal was clear: to transform the main level into a bright, welcoming space designed for comfort, warmth, and gathering.

Studio K’s vision of the space opened sightlines and introduced natural light, creating an effortless sense of flow. The new kitchen features custom white oak cabinetry, a handcrafted plaster range hood, and statement lighting that adds depth and elegance. Exposed wood beams and a coffered ceiling bring architectural character. A soft, neutral palette and layered textures create timeless harmony throughout. The custom bar area was designed to connect the adjacent living room and kitchen, while maintaining its own identity. Using the same white oak cabinetry in a distinct door style, our design incorporated custom brass shelving, soapstone countertops, and a backdrop of textured grasscloth wallpaper—introducing an element of sophistication and visual interest.

In the family room, custom upholstered sofas and rich leather swivel chairs invite cozy gatherings around the new fireplace. Stacked stone and floor-to-ceiling inset bookcases frame the hearth, creating a striking focal point for displaying family photos and cherished mementos. The combination of materials and textures feels refined yet approachable—striking the perfect balance between elegance and ease.

The former sunroom was transformed into a light-filled dining area—an inviting space where the family now enjoys meals and celebrations with children and grandchildren. Additional updates throughout the main level included a laundry room, powder room, and home office, each designed with thoughtful attention to both beauty and function.
